About Photo Metadata

Photo Metadata — free, private, browser-based image tool

Read camera, lens, GPS and every other EXIF tag from any photo. It takes JPEG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, TIFF, HEIC and gives you JSON. It runs in your browser, so the file is processed on your own device.

Why use Photo Metadata

  • ·Files stay on your device — nothing is uploaded
  • ·No signup needed
  • ·Works in any modern browser, on any OS
  • ·Free daily use; Pro removes limits and watermarks

How to use it

  1. 1Drop a JPEG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, TIFF, HEIC file on the page, or click to choose one.
  2. 2Pick the options you want.
  3. 3Download the JSON file.

What Photo Metadata does

Read camera, lens, GPS and every other EXIF tag from any photo. The result is a JSON file you download directly.

How it works

Uses Canvas2D and WebGL2 with OffscreenCanvas for parallel processing. Filters run as GPU shaders where supported, falling back to CPU SIMD via WebAssembly. The processing code runs inside the page, so your file is not uploaded to a server — you can confirm this in your browser's DevTools → Network tab.
