About Resize Image

Resize Image — free, private, browser-based image tool

Resize an image to exact pixels or by percentage, with sharp Lanczos resampling and the aspect ratio locked by default.

Why use Resize Image

  • ·Files stay on your device — nothing is uploaded
  • ·No signup needed
  • ·Works in any modern browser, on any OS
  • ·Free daily use; Pro removes limits and watermarks

How to use it

  1. 1Drop the image.
  2. 2Type a width or height in pixels (the other follows while the aspect lock is on) or pick a preset such as 50% or 2×.
  3. 3Choose the output format and resampling method (Lanczos3 by default), then download.

Sharp results

Lanczos3 is the default resampling method; Mitchell, Catmull-Rom, Triangle and hqx are also available. Presets cover 50%, 75%, 150%, 2× and 4×. Save as PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF.

How it works

Uses Canvas2D and WebGL2 with OffscreenCanvas for parallel processing. Filters run as GPU shaders where supported, falling back to CPU SIMD via WebAssembly. The processing code runs inside the page, so your file is not uploaded to a server — you can confirm this in your browser's DevTools → Network tab.

Frequently asked questions

Will enlarging make the image sharper?+
No resizer can add detail that isn’t there. Lanczos keeps edges as clean as possible; for real upscaling use the AI Enhance tool.
How do I keep the proportions?+
The aspect-ratio lock is on by default — change width or height and the other follows.
Is my image uploaded?+
No. Resizing runs in your browser.
Is Resize Image free?+
Yes, with a daily free allowance and no signup. Xonvert Pro ($4.99/month) removes the daily limits and the watermark on exported files.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. It works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iPad.
