How to use it

  1. 1Drop a video (MP4, MOV, WebM…).
  2. 2Set the start and end of the part you want.
  3. 3Pick the frame rate (10, 15, 20 or 24 fps) and width (320, 480, 640 or 800 px).
  4. 4Press Build & Download GIF.

Keeping GIFs small

GIF stores up to 256 colours per frame and compresses poorly, so size grows quickly with length, width and frame rate. For chat and READMEs, 480 px at 10–15 fps for a few seconds is a good target. If the destination accepts video, an MP4 is far smaller and keeps full colour.

How it works

Hybrid renderer: WebGL2 for color grading and effects, WebCodecs for decode/encode, ffmpeg.wasm for muxing and exotic codecs. Multi-threaded via SharedArrayBuffer where COOP/COEP is available. The processing code runs inside the page, so your file is not uploaded to a server — you can confirm this in your browser's DevTools → Network tab.
