About Split PDF

Split PDF — free, private, browser-based pdf tool

Split a PDF into separate files: every page on its own, custom ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, or just the pages you pick from thumbnails.

Why use Split PDF

  • ·Files stay on your device — nothing is uploaded
  • ·No signup needed
  • ·Works in any modern browser, on any OS
  • ·Free daily use; Pro removes limits and watermarks

How to use it

  1. 1Drop a PDF file on the page, or click to choose one.
  2. 2Pick the options you want.
  3. 3Download the PDF file.

Three ways to split

Every page creates one PDF per page. Custom ranges takes a list like 1-3, 4-6 and makes one file per range. Pick pages shows thumbnails so you can click the pages to keep and save them as one PDF.

How it works

pdf-lib and pdfjs-dist render and edit the PDF stream directly in your browser. Tesseract.js handles OCR with on-device language packs. The processing code runs inside the page, so your file is not uploaded to a server — you can confirm this in your browser's DevTools → Network tab.
