How to use it
- 1Drop a photo with a clear subject — a person, product or pet.
- 2Choose Fast, Balanced or High quality; the model downloads once on first use.
- 3Keep the transparent background or pick a backdrop colour, then download the PNG.
Quality and backdrops
Choose Fast, Balanced (default) or High quality; higher settings download a larger model once and give cleaner edges. Keep the result transparent or place it on white, black, a studio gradient or any colour you pick. The result is saved as a PNG.
Engine
It uses the open-source @imgly/background-removal library with ISNet segmentation models.
How it works
Uses Canvas2D and WebGL2 with OffscreenCanvas for parallel processing. Filters run as GPU shaders where supported, falling back to CPU SIMD via WebAssembly. The processing code runs inside the page, so your file is not uploaded to a server — you can confirm this in your browser's DevTools → Network tab.
