What's the difference between J2K and XLS?

JPEG 2000 Codestream is raw jpeg 2000 codestream without jp2 container metadata. Excel 97-2003 is legacy microsoft excel binary spreadsheet format. Key difference: JPEG 2000 Codestream excels at wavelet compression with superior quality at low bitrates, while Excel 97-2003 offers backward compatibility with Excel 97 and later.

How does the J2K to XLS conversion work technically?

Xonvert uses WebAssembly-compiled libraries to decode your J2K file in-browser, process the image data, and re-encode it as XLS. All processing happens on your device's CPU.

What happens to my files after conversion?

Nothing — your files exist only in your browser's memory during conversion. Once you close the page, all data is cleared. No files are stored anywhere.
