Question 1

Is the WMV to MP4 converter free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Converting WMV to MP4 on Xonvert is free, with no signup and no credit card. Free files carry a small Xonvert mark in the name (and on some image and video outputs); Pro removes it.

Question 2

Do my files get uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — your file never leaves your device. We can't see it, store it, or use it for training.

Question 3

Is the converted MP4 file high quality?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The conversion uses standards-compliant encoders that produce bit-accurate output, the same quality you'd get from a native desktop application.

Question 4

Can I convert WMV to MP4 on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The converter works in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iPhone/iPad, Chrome on Android — with no app to install.

Question 5

Do I need to be online?

Accepted Answer

Only to load the page the first time. After that the converter works fully offline because all the conversion code lives in your browser cache.
