AVIF is often much smaller than JPG at the same visible quality — ideal for fast websites. This converter runs entirely in your browser — the file is never uploaded.
Why convert JPG to AVIF?
AVIF is often much smaller than JPG at the same visible quality — ideal for fast websites.
How it works
Drop the JPG and download an AVIF. Images are decoded and re-encoded in your browser with the jsquash builds of MozJPEG, libwebp and libavif — the codecs behind Google’s Squoosh. AVIF encoding is slower than other formats.
Quality notes
Re-encoding adds a little loss; at a high setting it is not visible. Current Chrome, Firefox and Safari display AVIF.
Common use cases
Shrinking website photos; saving storage for image archives.
